Scripture Reading, Luke
2: 41-50
Each year his parents went to Jerusalem for the feast of the
Passover, and when he was twelve years old, they went up according
to festival custom. After they had completed its days, as they
were returning, the boy Jesus remained behind in Jerusalem, but
his parents did not know it. Thinking that he was in the caravan,
they journeyed for a day and looked for him among their relatives
and acquaintances, but not finding him, they returned to Jerusalem
to look for him. After three days they found him in the temple,
sitting in the midst of the teachers, listening to them and asking
them questions, and all who heard him were astounded at his understanding
and his answers. When his parents saw him, they were astonished,
and his mother said to him: "Son, why have you done this
to us? Your father and I have been looking for you with great
anxiety." And he said to them: "Why were you looking
for me? Did you not know I must be in my Father's house?"
But they did not understand what he said to them. |

Virtue: Piety. If you wish, concentrate on the virtue associated
with this Mystery and ask God's grace to achieve it.
Holy Name:
Jesus, Saint among saints.
If you wish, add the Holy Name phrase
after the name of Jesus in each Hail Mary of the decade, to remember
the theme of the Mystery.
Our Father (The
Lord's Prayer)
V. Our Father, Who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth
as it is in heaven.
R. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not
into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Hail Mary
V. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed are
thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
R. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at
the hour of our death. Amen. |
Glory Be
V. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
R. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world
without end. Amen.
Invocation: The Mexican Rosary finishes each decade with the
invocation of your choice. See examples in Quick
Guide to the Rosary: Mexico. The U.S. Rosary omits the
invocation or uses the "Fatima Prayer."
Fatima Prayer
V. O my Jesus, forgive us our sins.
R. Save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to heaven,
especially those in most need of Thy mercy.
Hymn: In Mexico it is customary to sing two or three verses
of a hymn after each decade. See Quick
Guide to the Rosary: Mexico. In general the U.S. Rosary
does not include hymns.
