Scripture Reading, John
2: 1-11
On the third day there was a wedding in Cana in Galilee,
and the mother of Jesus was there. Jesus and his disciples were
also invited to the wedding. When the wine ran short, the mother
of Jesus said to him, "They have no wine." [And] Jesus
said to her, "Woman, how does your concern affect me? My
hour has not yet come." His mother said to the servers,
"Do whatever he tells you." Now there were six stone
water jars there for Jewish ceremonial washings, each holding
twenty to thirty gallons. Jesus told them, "Fill the jars
with water." So they filled them to the brim. Then he told
them, "Draw some out now and take it to the headwaiter."
So they took it. And when the headwaiter tasted the water that
had become wine, without knowing where it came from (although
the servers who had drawn the water knew), the headwaiter called
the bridegroom and said to him, "Everyone serves good wine
first, and then when people have drunk freely, an inferior one;
but you have kept the good wine until now." Jesus did this
as the beginning of his signs in Cana in Galilee and so revealed
his glory, and his disciples began to believe in him. |

Virtue: Trust in the
Lord. If you wish, concentrate on
the virtue associated with this Mystery and ask God's grace to
achieve it.
Holy Name:
Jesus who answers our prayers.
If you wish, add the Holy Name phrase after the name of Jesus
in each Hail Mary of the decade, to remember the theme of the
Mystery.
Our Father (The
Lord's Prayer)
V. Our Father, Who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth
as it is in heaven.
R. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not
into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Hail Mary
V. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed are
thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
R. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at
the hour of our death. Amen. |
Glory Be
V. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
R. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world
without end. Amen.
Invocation: The Mexican Rosary finishes each decade with the
invocation of your choice. See examples in Quick
Guide to the Rosary: Mexico. The U.S. Rosary omits the
invocation or uses the "Fatima Prayer."
Fatima Prayer
V. O my Jesus, forgive us our sins.
R. Save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to heaven,
especially those in most need of Thy mercy.
Hymn: In Mexico it is customary to sing two or three verses
of a hymn after each decade. See Quick
Guide to the Rosary: Mexico. In general the U.S. Rosary
does not include hymns.
