Scripture Reading, Matthew
17: 1-8
After six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother,
and led them up a high mountain by themselves. And he was transfigured
before them; his face shone like the sun and his clothes became
white as light. And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them,
conversing with him. Then Peter said to Jesus in reply, "Lord,
it is good that we are here. If you wish, I will make three tents
here, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah." While
he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud cast a shadow over
them, then from the cloud came a voice that said, "This
is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him."
When the disciples heard this, they fell prostrate and were very
much afraid. But Jesus came and touched them, saying, "Rise,
and do not be afraid." And when the disciples raised their
eyes, they saw no one else but Jesus alone. |

Virtue: Reverence. If you wish, concentrate on the virtue associated
with this Mystery and ask God's grace to achieve it.
Holy Name:
Jesus who reveals His majesty. If
you wish, add the Holy Name phrase after the name of Jesus in
each Hail Mary of the decade, to remember the theme of the Mystery.
Our Father (The
Lord's Prayer)
V. Our Father, Who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth
as it is in heaven.
R. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not
into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Hail Mary
V. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed are
thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
R. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at
the hour of our death. Amen. |
Glory Be
V. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
R. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world
without end. Amen.
Invocation: The Mexican Rosary finishes each decade with the
invocation of your choice. See examples in Quick
Guide to the Rosary: Mexico. The U.S. Rosary omits the
invocation or uses the "Fatima Prayer."
Fatima Prayer
V. O my Jesus, forgive us our sins.
R. Save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to heaven,
especially those in most need of Thy mercy.
Hymn: In Mexico it is customary to sing two or three verses
of a hymn after each decade. See Quick
Guide to the Rosary: Mexico. In general the U.S. Rosary
does not include hymns.
