Ex-Monastery
of San Francisco
Totimehuacán

Exterior Views
The Franciscan friars began preaching in Totimehuacán early in the colonial period, possibly in 1529, but they delayed building the monastery conplex for several decades.
Apparently the friars began construction in 1569. As of 1585 they still had not finished roofing the cloister and part of the church.
